Blues Funeral Recordings is proud to announce the signing of groundbreaking Belgian rock outfit GNOME to their esteemed roster, ahead of the band’s new album — set for release in 2027 — alongside many other exciting news to come.

Gnome stand today as one of Belgium’s most exciting rock exports, bridging the gap between technical proficiency and irreverent creativity. With a growing international footprint, high-profile festival appearances and their acclaimed latest album, Gnome are poised to move from cult favorites to defining force in the modern heavy underground as they join the Blues Funeral Recordings roster for their forthcoming album, expected in 2027.

About joining Blues Funeral Recordings, they say, "When we were a much younger band, Blues Funeral Recordings was always on our radar as the kind of quality label we hoped to one day work with. Their attention to detail in the artwork, the devotion to quality, the personal touches, the long-term connection with fans and followers: the love they poured into their releases was obvious in every aspect. So when we got an unexpected reply to an email we'd sent three years prior, it really felt like a sign of recognition for all the miles traveled and hours spent working on our music. We are absolutely chuffed to bits to join the ranks of so many bands we love and who've influenced us, and can't wait to bring some more fun to the Funeral!"

Formed in 2016 by vocalist and guitarist Rutger Verbist, bassist Geoffrey Verhulst and drummer Egon Loosveldt, Gnome has become one of Europe’s most distinctive modern heavy acts. The Antwerp trio built their identity on a striking balance of crushing stoner metal riffs and progressive structures underlined by an unmistakable streak of humor. Their iconic yet un-self-serious stage presence—complete with red pointed hats—signals a band unafraid to be their own weird selves, embracing absurdity while delivering blistering grooves and raging anthems.

Gnome’s 2018 debut LP, Father of Time, introduced audiences to their riff-centric sound and progressive leanings. Their breakthrough came with 2022’s King, with critics and fans alike noting their ability to merge technical complexity with memorable hooks. Their third full-length Vestiges of Verumex Visidrome (Polderrecords, 2024) was the culmination of their rapid ascent, refining their blend of stoner rock, progressive metal and psychedelic elements into a cohesive and ambitious statement.

Moving from cult curiosity to a rising name in the European stoner and progressive rock scenes, Gnomehad quickly become a formidable live act, through extensive tours across Europe and the UK, as well as appearances at Desertfest, Bloodstock Festival and Sonic Blast. Their highly engaging shows translated successfully overseas, with their first North American run and appearances at Louder Than Life and Aftershock. Now, Gnome are ushering in a new era as they prepare to unleash their 2027 album on established label Blues Funeral Recordings.
