Swiss one-man melodic gothic metal project Black Reuss is set to unveil its fourth full-length album, Death, on February 27, 2026, via Golden Robot Records. This highly anticipated release follows the first single, “Oblivion,” with the second single, “Endgame,” arriving on February 13. Prepare to be drawn into a dark, emotional journey that embodies the very essence of gothic metal, as Black Reuss continues to push the boundaries of the genre with deeply resonant themes and compelling soundscapes.
At the helm of this project is the visionary Maurizio Dottore, who transforms life’s inevitable currents into haunting melodies. Inspired by the Swiss river Reuss, Death explores themes of transformation, darkness, resilience, and renewal, representing the next chapter in this ongoing journey. This album is a sonic exploration of dissolution, judgment, rebirth, and the fragile spark of hope that persists even in darkness. With heavier, deeper, and more atmospheric textures, Death is poised to captivate both new listeners and longtime fans alike.
Dottore’s artistry is complemented by contributions from renowned musicians, including Diego Rapacchietti on drums and mixing by Roberto Macis. The album is meticulously crafted, showcasing Dottore’s prowess in writing, composing, performing, and producing every track. “This album dives into the place where identity dissolves, and truth becomes quiet,” says Dottore. “Death isn’t an ending—it’s a passage. It’s a continuation, a deeper flow beneath the surface. I want listeners to feel that current, to connect with it, and eventually bring it to life on stage.”
About Black Reuss:
The journey of Black Reuss is one of metamorphosis and reflection. From the turbulent birth of transformation in Metamorphosis (2021) to navigating the path to self-understanding in Journey (2022), and achieving clarity and acceptance in Arrival (2023), the saga continues with Death (2026), where listeners will experience a descent into deeper, unseen currents—a rebirth of the river itself.
