Broadslab has officially released their album The Fifth Essence!

North Carolina heavy outfit Broadslab have officially unleashed their full-length album The Fifth Essence, out now via Electric Desert Records, delivering a full-dose of their signature “Hellacious Soul Metal.”

This isn’t polished. This isn’t modern metal chasing trends. This is thick, swamp-soaked groove metal built on Southern grit, outlaw energy, and riffs that sound like they were forged on a gravel road at midnight.

From the first single Keep on Rollin’ to the follow-up Leslie, Broadslab have been laying the groundwork for a record that doesn’t ease you in, it runs you over and keeps going.

The Fifth Essence pulls from deep Southern rock roots and twists them into something heavier, darker, and meaner. Think Corrosion of Conformity-style groove colliding with sludge weight and psychedelic edge, but with its own backwoods identity fully intact.

Recorded and mixed by Mike Dean and produced by Broadslab alongside Dean, the album keeps everything raw and unfiltered. No studio gloss. No safety net. Just volume, feel, and attitude.

The band’s outlaw DNA runs through every track, tied to a heritage of backroads, moonshine history, and a lifestyle that doesn’t clock in or clock out. It’s loud music for loud lives.

North Carolina promoter Tony “Dio” Leonard summed it up best:

“If the Allman Brothers, Black Sabbath and Captain Beyond had a threesome, Broadslab would be the dirty result.”

Hard to argue with that.

Broadslab didn’t come to fit in. They came to kick the door in and leave it swinging.
