Cathode U.L.T.'s new album, Savagery and Salvation, has just been released!

Cathode U.L.T are a Midwest sludge unit moving fast and getting heavier with every release. Formed in August 2023, they introduced themselves with the Coal Horse EP (February 2024), then followed with Orphan Source by Halloween the same year. Now they return with their third release in under two years, Savagery and Salvation, their most punishing and ambitious work to date.

Rooted in true sludge grime but pulling from doom, punk, and thrash, the trio push their songwriting into denser atmosphere and crushing momentum, balancing raw aggression with bleak melody and dynamic tension. It’s a record that sounds like a band refusing to slow down, tightening the screws while widening the scope.

Recorded in an abandoned Catholic church in Louisville, Kentucky, the album was produced by Sol. E. Williams and co-produced by Josh Ross, who also handled the engineering, recording, mixing, and mastering for Ross Audio Engineering.
