Godzilla In The Kitchen have just released EMPTY CRIBS, the second single from their upcoming album!

The German heavy-psychedelic-prog trio GODZILLA IN THE KITCHEN released their first new material since their last album, EXODUS (2022, Argonauta Records), back in May. After switching to Tonzonen Records, they’re aiming to really hit their stride this time around.

A new label and a new drummer aren't the only major changes since the last album: up until now, they played exclusively instrumental music, but with their new material, they’re incorporating vocals for the first time—and I think the change suits them perfectly.

We´re excited to open another chapter in 2026 with our progressive tune Empty Cribs supported by a lyric video with haunting imagery. Tool-esque bass lines, virtuosic guitar riffs, and deeply emotional lyrics merge into an atmospheric alternative metal piece. Our stoner, progressive, and psychedelic influences culminate in a distinctive, organic sound. The song was written under the impression of declining birth rates. The lyrics were inspired by one of the finest films of the 21st century: Children of Men, starring Clive Owen. We asked ourselves what happens to a society when generations shrink, playgrounds remain empty, wars continue to spread, and the very idea of the future slowly fades? Balancing melancholy and eruptive intensity, Empty Cribs paints a portrait of a world losing its certainties without having completely surrendered hope.
