Formed in 2016, Buñuel is a literal international supergroup of global significance, featuring the singular vocals and incisive, cutting lyrics of Eugene S. Robinson (Oxbow) alongside guitarist Xabier Iriondo (Afterhours, A Short Apnea), bassist David Haemery (Sordide), and drummer Frank Valente (Il Teatro Degli Orrori). Emerging in 2016 but solidifying their status with 2024's "Mansuetude" (their debut on SKiN GRAFT/OVERDRIVE), the band crafts a sound defined by deliberate tension and unrefined instinct. Their sound is an intentional provocation - uncompromising in its raw physicality, labyrinthine in structure, and sheer, tectonic-weight heavy. Commenting on the upcoming tour-dates across the US, Xabier Iriondo states: “Touring the US was one of our goals while writing Mansuetude. After our first run last June/July to break the ice, we’re ready to hit as many places as possible. Personally, I’m really looking forward to sharing this upcoming tour with Squid Pisser, our Skin Graft labelmates.”

“Mansuetude” presents a profound contradiction in terms - a title evoking submission applied to an album of assertive, almost architectural sonic force. Buñuel constructs this paradox across the expansive canvas of a triple-sided vinyl, creating a self-contained world governed by its own internal logic of tension and release. The album navigates a topography that spans the claustrophobic intensity of noise, the grim, heavy blues of existential dread, the precise aggression of metal, and the liberated syntax of jazz. The collective aim transcends mere genre exercise; “Mansuetude” aspires to be a catalytic agent- a work of sonic alchemy designed to confront and transmute the latent anxieties of its time.

"BUNUEL shows are always lightning bolts.” – says Eugene S. Robinson. “Usually through the head, but on the West Coast, the coast I, until recently, called home it always plays stranger than strange. That plus the weird headspace America is in, in total, well, I have NO idea what kind of madness will ensue. But will it be worth it? As much or more so than Mansuetude could even have hinted at."
