Sons of Greenwich deliver crushing, fuzz-drenched doom metal rooted in 70s hard rock, psychedelia, and the bleak heft of sludge and stoner metal. Hailing from the sparsely populated mill town of Erving, Massachusetts, the band formed nearly a year ago and quickly evolved from informal jam sessions into a fully realized heavy project.
The lineup features guitarist/vocalist Chris Matthews (ex–Tetsuo, The Search For…, Sour Times), bassist/vocalist Brett Cosby (Catstronaut84, ex–Thirteen of Everything), and drummer Jamie Barry (Edgar, The Justice League). Each member brings distinct influences and songwriting voices, resulting in dense, dynamic compositions built on massive riffs and immersive atmosphere.
With their debut EP Hadal out now on Bandcamp, Sons of Greenwich are bringing their uncompromisingly live sound and visual presentation to stages throughout the Northeast and beyond.
'Hadal' is Sons of Greenwich's debut EP. It was recorded at Copper Cannon Distillery in Chesterfield NH over two days in December 2025. All songs were recorded live off the floor in entire takes with no click track. The band did the bare minimum of overdubs and fixes to present the most honest and human versions of their songs believing that in the time of perfect AI created music, true humanity will shine through.
