Introducing the debut album Scales Of Soundscapes by Quinn's Lizard!

Quinn's Lizard's debut album Scales Of Soundscapes is the culmination of nine years of songwriting and artistic development. Published with a companion publication, available on Amazon in paperback and Kindle with text and illustrations documenting the project's creative journey from early rehearsals in Camden through years of independent creation, performance and artistic growth.

Quinn's Lizard approach songwriting as a process of discovery. Rather than beginning with a predetermined formula, songs grow from riffs, melodies, rhythmic ideas or lyrical concepts and are allowed to find their own shape as they de-velop. Drawing inspiration from heavy rock, stoner, psychedelia and progressive music, the band values memorable musical ideas as much as atmosphere and exploration. Their compositions are built around strong themes and motifs that evolve throughout a track, creating journeys that reward both immediate enjoyment and repeated listening.

The lyrics exploit literary devices — alliteration, chiasmus, enjambement — to sculpt the rhythm of the vocal lines them-selves, embedding structure into the sound before the voice even enters. DeliriumTremens draws on the full palette of his voice: at times gritty and raw, at times reaching into the high range, at times spoken or barely whispered — each register deployed as a compositional choice rather than mere communicative urgency.

While guitars explore several colours of the stoner-psych scenery, the bass is very present, delivering several intros (Intro / Adamant, Lies, Night Lizard) and linear drumming completes the rhythm frame of their catalogue. A distinctive feature of the debut album is the interplay between the two vocalists. Guitarist Mattia Marcon contributed complementary vocals that bassist Alberto De Luca (a.k.a. DeliriumTremens) often developed into fully interwoven melodic parts of the writing. Rather than serving a purely supporting role, the two voices frequently interact as independent musical lines, adding depth and movement to the arrangements.

This interplay can be heard throughout Scales of Soundscapes. Tracks such as Evil Truck Inferno and Orange show-case the exchange of lead and supporting harmonies, while The Mountain Of A Thousand Battles and 21st Century Hoax highlight the full dynamic range of the vocal partnership. The closing track, See You There, brings this approach to its natural conclusion, weaving two distinct vocal lines together to create a layered and memorable finale. Crimson Disc and The Mountain Of A Thousand Battles perhaps best encapsulate Quinn's Lizard's songwriting philosophy, balancing memorable musical themes, evolving arrangements and vocal lines that are woven into the dy-namic progression of the music itself, crafting peculiar song structures around their riffs. "Nicely paced blend of psych and stoner/hard rock; these guys have the riffs but they also have the songs."

Quinn's Lizard began as a London-based heavy rock trio and has since evolved into an independent music project nav-igating both electric and acoustic territories — blending stoner grooves, psychedelic atmospheres and progressive influ-ences into a distinctive sonic identity forged through nearly a decade of independent music-making.

Founded in 2017, the band has developed its sound through grassroots live performances, self-produced recordings and a restless approach to songwriting — one that never abandons the song itself, even as heavy riffs and extended instrumental passages push against its edges.

An established presence on London's independent circuit, the band have built lasting relationships with promoters in-cluding Civil War and London Music Showcase while continuing to expand their creative horizons through special col- laborations and acoustic reinterpretations of their work.

Born in Camden and shaped by London's grassroots venue circuit, Quinn's Lizard have maintained a fiercely independ-ent creative approach from the outset. Every release has been independently written, arranged, recorded, mixed and mastered by the band, reflecting a commitment to artistic self-sufficiency and creative control that runs through everything they do.

Nine years after its inception, Quinn's Lizard continues to evolve — treating each release and performance not as an endpoint but as another chapter in an ongoing creative journey.

LONDON INDEPENDENT CIRCUIT

Since their first appearance on London's live circuit in 2018, Quinn's Lizard have built a lasting relationship with Civil War — one of London's longest-running independent rock promotions, hosted predominantly at the Hope & Anchor, in Islington, where the band has played a few times, cementing friendship with other active members of the collective (Gramma Vedetta, OkYouWin, AliceIsSleeping, Desert Clouds).

Over several years and multiple events, the band had the occasion to play both electric and acoustic sets, at times host- ing on stage guest singers of the London scene (Rod Rivers of Alien Nation, Sil Fiore of Sibilla). Civil War XXVI in July

2025 marked the return to electric sets, with Quinn's Lizard opening the night to a strong reception.The Quinn's Lizard EP, released the same day as Civil War XXVI, was conceived in part as a tribute to the promotion and to the grassroots live music ecosystem that has supported the band's development.
