Prophets of Thwaites' music ranges from heavy, suffocating doom passages to fragile, ethereal moments, creating a tension between darkness and light, heaviness and vulnerability.
Their debut EP Vulnerant omnes ultima necat was released via Pest Records. The EP Vulnerant omnes ultima necat was released in March and was included on the Doom charts, then as part of the Weedian compilation in April.
The band's comment on the EP Vulnerant omnes ultima necat:
Vulnerant omnes ultima necat is a release that combines heavy, melancholic doom with an ethereal and atmospheric approach. Lyrically, the EP revolves around destruction, consequences and the things we choose not to see. The first song explores the idea of closing our eyes together, while the second depicts the devastation that remains behind us after all the damage has been done. For us, this release represents a mature step towards a heavier and more atmospheric sound that feels like a true reflection of who we are as a band.
Bonus live track Karzelek also has its own story. It draws inspiration from the Polish legend of the Karzełki, dwarfs who are said to live and work in mines. We wanted to capture that dark, folkloric atmosphere and bring it into our own world of doom.
Vulnerant Omnes Ultima Necat
“They all wound, and the last one kills.”
Esma wrote these songs three years ago, and with Nico’s heavy drums, they finally came to life. We only had one practice session before recording, but that captured the raw, intense energy of the EP.
The first track explores turning a blind eye together, while the second depicts the wasteland left after all the damage is done. This release marks a mature step into a heavier, melancholic, and atmospheric doom/stoner sound that truly reflects who we are.
The artwork by Dylan Hayes perfectly captures the apocalyptic vibe of the music. Prophets Of Thwaites is an ethereal doom band from the Netherlands, blending massive, hypnotic riffs and slow grooves with dreamy vocals, layered guitar leads and immersive atmospheres. Moving seamlessly between crushing heaviness and fragile beauty, the band places dynamics and emotional intensity at the heart of both their music and live performances.
On March 17, 2026, Prophets Of Thwaites released their EP Vulnerant omnes ultima necat, recorded with guest drummer Nico Beemster (Accabadora). The EP entered the March 2026 Doom Charts Top 40 at #28 and received international praise from outlets including Jam Yeti Music Blog, Doomed For Metal and Outlaws Of The Sun.
