Chicago-based noise-rock duo of Jake Steven James (guitars, synths, vocals) and Izabella Rose (drums, vocals), will release their first full-length album on August 21 via Dipterid Records.
Musically, ‘Sell The Cow’ reaches well beyond the conventions of noise punk, drawing together harsh soundscapes, driving alternative rock, moments of striking melodic restraint, and occasional passages that hint at heavier and darker sonic territory. Built around themes of preserving humanity in an increasingly uncertain world, Sell The Cow explores resilience, connection, and the search for meaning through an uncompromising noise-punk lens.
Distorted guitars, fractured rhythms, and bursts of controlled chaos are offset by quieter passages and unexpected details, creating constant shifts in mood and texture. The track “Sold.”, for example, incorporates a piano passage written by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, reflecting the band's approach to combining seemingly incompatible influences while maintaining a coherent musical identity.
Pre-order ‘Sell The Cow’ coming out August 21 via Dipterid Records from now on here.

For the duo, Sell The Cow is closely tied to both their creative partnership and the community surrounding the band. “The process of writing and putting together our debut album has been one of the greatest experiences of my life to-date,” shares Izabella. “Getting to make art I care about deeply, with someone I care about equally has been such a beautiful experience. My goal has always been to be there for my community and my main hope through this is that my community will continue to grow stronger and look out for one another. I'm so excited to see what happens next.”
The record captures the band's formative years, bringing together songs that have gradually taken shape through writing, rehearsal, and live performance. “This album is the culmination of the beginning years of this band, and truly finding what makes King Sans, King Sans,” says Jake. “We've been road-testing most of these tracks for a while now, and I'm thrilled to finally get them (and some new ones) out into the ether, fully formed and thematically tied.”
