Mirror of My Soul, the solo project of Patrik Andersson Winberg (Dun Ringill, ex-The Order of Israfel, Doomdogs), has just shared a new video for "The One Who Sings The Songs", the latest single taken from the forthcoming debut album October is Rising, due out June 12 via Majestic Mountain Records.

The solo project of Patrik Andersson Winberg (Dun Ringill, ex-The Order of Israfel, Doomdogs), Mirror of My Soul steps away from the constraints of band dynamics and into something far more personal and fluid. Rooted in singer-songwriter storytelling yet carrying the emotional power of gothic and hard rock, the album unfolds through atmosphere, intensity, and a deep sense of introspection.
What began five years ago as a need to express something more intimate has evolved into a fully realized work shaped by instinct, patience, and collaboration. Letting go of structure and expectation, Winberg allowed the songs to take their own form, moving between light and shadow, strength and vulnerability.

Sonically, October is Rising draws from a wide palette, the stark storytelling of Nick Cave, the gravitas of Johnny Cash, and the haunting atmospheres of Fields of the Nephilim, while carving out its own cinematic and deeply evocative identity.

The title track “October is Rising” features a standout cast of musicians, including Terry Slesser (ex Beckett, Backstreet Crawler, Geordie) on vocals, Per Wiberg (ex Opeth, Kamchatka, Spiritual Beggars) on piano, and Pete Campbell on drums. The arrangement is further enriched by Peter Gustafsson (Nick Bastard Quartet) on harmonica, Patric Grammann on electric guitar, and Patrik Andersson Winberg handling bass.
While deeply personal, the album is far from solitary. A wide range of collaborators contribute throughout alongside an extensive cast of vocalists who bring shifting perspectives to each track without ever breaking the album’s cohesion. At the center of it all remains Winberg himself, anchoring the record with a consistent vision that ties its many moving parts into a unified whole.
