US heavy psychedelic powerhouse MOON DESTROYS announces their new lineup as they gear up for a massive 2026, with a new full-length due in September on Blues Funeral Recordings, followed by extensive US and overseas touring.

Fresh off a breakout 2025 that saw them tour with Elder, Dozer and The Sword, MOON DESTROYS has announced a lineup change ahead of a busy 2026 touring cycle supporting their forthcoming sophomore full-length. With a new album due in September 2026 and major US and overseas touring on the horizon, the band is set to enter a new chapter in their already prolific career.

About welcoming Zach Amster (also known for fronting Denver heavy rock unit Abrams) in the band, founding members Juan Montoya and Evan Diprima enthuse, "We met Zach on tour last summer and instantly clicked. We were taken aback by his powerful live sound and professionalism. The man is a creative genius. His voice and guitar skills are a powerful and perfect compliment to our evolving sound.”

"When I first met the Moon Destroys guys, we instantly hit it off as buds. So when they asked me to join it was an immediate yes. The only thing that took me by surprise was how quickly we were able to write this record together. We were immediately in sync creatively. I think we finished writing and tracking it in less than two months and it turned out killer! I am honored to join forces and look forward to a bright future with the band," says Zach Amster.

Formed by legendary guitarist Juan Montoya (a founding member of Torche) and drummer Evan Diprima (Gold Pyramid, Royal Thunder), MOON DESTROYS released their first EP Maiden Voyage in 2020. The 5-song debut featured contributions from Troy Sanders (Mastodon) and Bryan Richie (The Sword) and laid a foundation that would come fully into focus in April 2025, when the band was thrust into the limelight supporting Elder just as they were self-releasing their debut full-length She Walks By Moonlight. This shimmering blend of post-rock, riff-doom and shoegazy psychedelia stood as a cinematic and otherworldly journey from a band who breeze into the environs of My Bloody Valentine, The Cult, The Jesus and Mary Chain, and Ride.

Capping off 2025, MOON DESTROYS was invited to support Swedish icons Dozer on their long-awaited US tour, while Blues Funeral Recordings gave She Walks By Moonlight a proper worldwide reissue in October, just in time for a coveted run of dates with The Sword. Their next full-length will be released in September 2026, with touring in the US and overseas to follow.
