Fresh off her captivating "Nagal" video release, I'm honored to finally introduce the sixth album fromexperimental heavy priestess and multi-instrumentalist LILI REFRAIN. Her organic and near-shamanic use of guitar, bass, synth, percussion and loops is interwoven with some of her most breathtaking vocals, offering a sonic suite in four movements — four alchemical states of an imaginary serpentine metamorphosis, a practice of transformation that crosses the body, memory, and the historical time we inhabit. A sonic reflection in an era where wars return to burn and horror becomes normalized. Amidst the darkness, the serpent becomes an act of love: the possibility to change, shed the skin that hurts, and refuse the repetition of suffering. Time stops as soon as we plunge into this soul-stirring and trance-inducing ritual filled with beauty and hope.
"Nagalite" will be released on March 27th via Subsound Records.
Lili Refrain is a Rome-based multi-instrumentalist, composer, and performer. Her music spans a wide sonic range, blending minimalist, folk, psychedelic, blues, metal, and opera into atmospheric textures. Embedded with ritualistic energy, her live performances offer a cathartic experience, guiding listeners into an unforgettable realm beyond genre.

The title of her forthcoming sixth studio album "Nagalite" fuses the word naga, from Sanskrit meaning "serpent" and bearer of ancient knowledge, with lite, from Greek lithos, meaning stone that endures beyond space and time. From this emerges a symbolic being, a stone-serpent: the living body of metamorphosis and its foundation. A totem that reminds us that every authentic transformation is both a political act and an act of love, because it is carried out not only for ourselves but for everything that surrounds us. "Nagalite" is an invitation to remember to transform not only to save ourselves, but to rediscover the thread of love that binds us to all that exists. Says Lili Refrain: "Nagalite is a reflection, a totem, a hope for transformation and rebirth in response to the dark times we are living through".
Entirely written, performed and executed by Lili Refrain, her new album "Nagalite" is built through real-time looping using voice, guitar, bass, synth, floor tom, bass drum and drum machine. It was recorded, mixed and mastered at 16th Cellar Studio in Rome by Stefano Morabito.
