HOLYSTONE's new album Accepting Omega recorded with Jack Endin (Nirvana, Soundgarden) and Dave Catching (Eagles of Death Metal, Queens Of The Stone Age) ventures into darker and heavier territory with clear alternative metal influences drawn from the Melvins, Bleach-era Nirvana and Tool, for a result that is far more disturbing and existential than their previous psych-soaked release. Eight songs of emotionally devastating and impressive heavy, accompanied by tense male/female vocals, as shown in their music video for The Prophecy!
Emerging from Brisbane, Australia, HOLYSTONE are a three-piece heavy band blending melodic doom, hypnotic psychedelia and apocalyptic world-building into a sound that feels both ritualistic and deeply unsettling. Featuring intertwining male and female vocals, towering riffs and repetitive desert-rock rhythms, the blindfolded trio perform clad in dark ceremonial attire, transforming their immersive live shows into something visceral and transportive. In the process, HOLYSTONE have quickly established themselves as one of Australia’s most distinctive rising heavy acts.
The band’s debut album East of the Sun, West of the Moon was released in March 2024 and received glowing reviews, expanding HOLYSTONE’s following around the world. An ambitious collection of vintage tones and hypnotically repetitive rhythms recorded live together as a whole in pursuit of ‘feel’, the album explored occult themes such as celestial worship, funerary practices and ancient Greek muses.
Although still a relatively young band, members Madison Morris (bass and vocals), Wolfe Peterson (guitar and vocals), and Jonny Pickvance (drums) have each built substantial musical histories before the formation of HOLYSTONE, having won awards and toured both domestically and internationally. The trio have quickly established themselves within Australia’s heavy underground, sharing stages with acts including Brant Bjork Trio, Yawning Man and Witchskull, while also appearing at events such as Nowhere Festival and Psychnight.

Exploring themes of anxiety, depression, existentialism, mortality and the collapse of the modern world, their upcoming sophomore album Accepting Omega centres around a world-ending figure known as Omega, with each track reflecting a different character’s experience of the approaching apocalypse and their growing temptation to assist in the coming doom, slowly surrendering to Omega’s apocalyptic promise. It will be self-released on July 17th in LP, CD and digital formats.
