The Polish-Japanese collective AcidSitter returns with Escape From Egoland - a conceptual psychedelic manifesto about humanity’s desperate need to let go of its ego.
It’s a sonic journey through downfall, awakening, and spiritual rebirth in a world suffocating from its own pride and excess.
Produced and recorded entirely on tape by Maciej Cieślak (Ścianka), the album carries a raw, organic sound that channels the spirit of late-’60s psychedelic recordings - visceral, imperfect, and alive.
Each track unfolds like a chapter in a ritual of transformation: from the hallucinatory initiation of “Eleusis Dream”, through the digital exhaustion and misanthropy of “Doomscroller’s Blues”, to the cosmic retribution of “Killegos Attack!”, where humanity faces the consequences of its swollen ego.
In “Your Eyes Were Orange Like The Sky,” man drowns in comfort and emptiness, blind to the coming collapse. “OmeN” opens a post-apocalyptic landscape - silence, loneliness, and ashes.
Then comes “PSYCHOPOMP,” a feral blend of stoner psychedelia, Beastie Boys-like energy, and the heavy shadow of doom metal, guiding the listener through a sonic rite of passage.
The closing triptych - “Seven Is My Lucky Number / Touched / Look At The Sun” - offers catharsis and peace: after the death of the ego, what remains is clarity, light, and understanding.
