Paris-based heavy post-hardcore band The Prestige return with Isthmos, their third full-length album, set for release on April 24, 2026 via Banshies. Dense, introspective and deeply narrative-driven, the eight-track record marks the band’s most contemplative and immersive work to date.
The album’s title derives from the Greek word for a narrow strip of land connecting two larger landmasses while separating two bodies of water. More than a geographical term, it symbolizes a passage between states of being. At its core, Isthmos explores the silent transformations that shape a life: grief, separation, birth, doubt and renewal. Each track unfolds as a fragment of this inner evolution, where violence and fragility coexist.
Musically, The Prestige push further into their territory between post-hardcore, sludge and chaotic hardcore, embracing slower dynamics, stretched tension and dense textures. For the first time, the band expands its sonic palette with deeper explorations of sound design, synthesizers and layered atmospheres, reinforcing the album’s immersive character. The record was captured live with the band performing together in the same room, preserving raw energy and collective intensity.
Produced once again by Amaury Sauvé (The Apiary) and mastered by Thibaut Chaumont (Deviant Lab), Isthmos opens with the devastating single “Debris”. The track captures the moment of sudden rupture, the instant when everything collapses and a new reality must be faced.
Following the previously released singles “Noire Nuit” and “The Ascend” the album unfolds as a journey through collapse, adaptation and reconstruction, an intimate cartography of transformation.
With Isthmos, The Prestige deliver more than a collection of songs. They offer a passage, an exploration of what remains after the storm, and who we become on the other side.
