Austin, TX-based grunge-doom goldsmiths DEMONS MY FRIENDS share their brooding new single "Kalorama", taken from their forthcoming new album "Survive/Yourself" to be issued on April 17th through Ripple Music.
When life fell apart, Demons My Friends once again found solace in music. For their sophomore album Survive Yourself, the heavy trio wrote for five days in Cuernavaca, Mexico, channeling a year of personal turmoil (sick relatives, lost jobs, and family crises) directly into the music. Recording became a patchwork journey through four different studios made possible by long-time collaborators and producers Jeff Henson, Pastas, and Fer Monroy.
Survive Yourself is the raw emotional document of a band holding it together when everything else was falling apart. Intricate and dark as ever, this new 8-tracker captures DMF's highly explosive sound through wistful, grungy textures, pummeling drums and grooves, searing downtuned riffage and powerful vocal hooks, offering moments of clarity within chaos. Fans of Soundgarden, Alice In Chains, Corrosion of Conformity, Monolord should love this! Don't miss the latest videos The Isolate and The Theory of Change.

Demons My Friends, whose three members originate from Mexico City, was born during an impromptu recording session at SXSW Festival 2022 in Austin, TX. The concept of their debut album "Demons Seem To Gather" (2023) explores the inner journey its members have embarked on since the onset of the COVID pandemic, confronting inner demons and battling anxiety, depression, self-doubt, and rage, while teaching themselves how to turn these demons into their "friends". Their sound is both emotionally charged and adventurous, blending raw power with a reflective moodiness. The lyrical themes often explore personal struggles, societal issues, and the complexities of the human experience, incorporating a touch of existential or philosophical contemplation. Demons My Friends provided tour support for Bruce Dickinson and Graveyard in Mexico, and performed at major festivals like Levitation, SXSW, Mexico Metal Fest and Ripplefest Texas.
