Seattle WA -- After more than a decade without any solo releases, Seattle songwriter and guitarist ALICIA AMIRI returns with the "Nothing Hurts EP", rooted in dark folk and the lingering weight of grunge. Stripped-down and unsparing, the songs move between restraint and intensity — a reintroduction that feels less like a comeback and more like a reckoning.

Writing and performing solo work takes more clarity and a lot more vulnerability. After something of a long dark night of the soul, I finally found myself ready to share my feelings and immediately wanted to get down some new songs. I asked a couple of my talented musician friends (Andrew King drums, Mike Sparks bass and guitar, Bob Cheek engineer) to help out and we laid down 8 tracks in 3 days. More music is on the way…"

Alicia Amiri is a longtime Seattle musician, songwriter, and guitarist whose sound blends dark folk minimalism with the shadow of grunge and heavier rock. Her earliest work was solo — voice and guitar — drawn toward darker emotional terrain.

After more than a decade away from releasing solo music, Amiri returns to the fold with precision and clarity. The songs are sparse and deliberate, favoring atmosphere over ornament and restraint over layers. Informed by goth and heavy rock as much as folk tradition, her music feels quietly heavy — intimate, unresolved, and intentional.
