Introducing the debut album Violet Crown by the band Voodoo Queen!

Voodoo Queen, a stoner blues rock band from La Rochelle, France. Their music combines massive riffs and soaring melodies to create a sound that is both intense and captivating. Inspired by Kyuss and Planet of Zeus, they draw on a raw, inhabited energy, carried by introspective lyrics that explore spirituality, doubt, and the urge to move beyond oneself.

Composed of 7 tracks, “Violet Crown” marks the dawn of a first chapter, a journey where the mystical light intertwines with the more enigmatic shades of our sonic universe.

The result of a chance encounter and a shared passion for rock and stoner music, Voodoo Queen delivers unique sounds, a fusion of mystery, power, and escapism. Carried by personal lyrics, their compositions invite introspection, questioning in the face of particular hardships, but also the quest for personal growth. Each song acts as a mirror of human emotions, between doubts, hopes, and revelations, where spirituality and the desire to follow one's convictions intertwine.

Inspired by the legacy of 70s rock and the power of modern sounds, Voodoo Queen navigates between the warmth of fuzz blues rock, the heavy sounds of stoner rock, and the raw energy of heavy rock. Influenced by bands such as Kyuss, Planet of Zeus, King Buffalo, and Valley of the Sun, the band combines powerful riffs, heavy rhythms, and more ethereal passages.

The alternation of dynamic moments and melodic interludes creates intense, sometimes dreamy, always soulful pieces, where raw energy rubs shoulders with genuine musical sensitivity.

Born out of a summer encounter in La Rochelle, France in August 2022, Voodoo Queen came into being through a mutual friend of Fabiola and Jérémie. Upon discovering Paul's announcement on a music forum, he made the connection and also introduced Jimmy. The discussions quickly drifted from musical directions to instruments, and it became clear that the chemistry was there.
